Adoption Information

  • You must submit the proper paperwork in order to start the adoption process. Our office is not allowed to guide you in what paperwork is to be submitted.
  • You can either hire an attorney or research the information, the filing fee is $214.00.
  • Background checks are required and can be obtained through the Chatham County Sheriff's Office for a cost of $15.00, or through Gemalto. Once a case is filed all adoptions are sealed.
