Real Estate Division

The Real Estate Recording Division is a branch of the Superior Court Clerk's office and offers a variety of services to the public. It is responsible for following all federal and state laws regarding receiving, recording, processing, and indexing all documents related to real estate in Chatham County, Georgia. Please be advised that state law prohibits our staff from rendering legal advice, restating the law, or recommending specific ways to pursue legal action (OCGA 15-19-51). The documents we record include, but are not limited to, real estate deeds, liens, plats, UCC filings, Military Discharges, trade names, and partnerships.

When recording real estate documents, all deeds conveying property must have a PT61 form attached. You can fill out the form at the Clerks Authority website.

**ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE WITNESSED AND NOTARIZED PRIOR TO FILIING IN OFFICE**

The Clerk of Superior Court has partnered with GSCCCA to offer you a new service. You can now request certified copies electronically through eCertification, this service allows you to request certified copies electronically. Garden City Records Center

Our Garden City Records Center, an extension of the Clerk's Office, is now open to the public. This facility is located at 4225 Augusta Road, Suite C, Garden City, GA 31408. The Records Center provides the public with improved access to a wide range of court and historical records. Visitors will be able to review older criminal, civil, and domestic files, as well as real estate deed books, plats, maps, microfilms, and other historical documents. The facility is also equipped with public access terminals for electronic research of more recent criminal, civil, and real estate records, along with microfilm scanners and printers for convenient use.
