The Real Estate Recording Division is a branch of the Superior Court Clerk's office and offers a variety of services to the public. It is responsible for following all federal and state laws regarding receiving, recording, processing, and indexing all documents related to real estate in Chatham County, Georgia. Please be advised that state law prohibits our staff from rendering legal advice, restating the law, or recommending specific ways to pursue legal action (OCGA 15-19-51). The documents we record include, but are not limited to, real estate deeds, liens, plats, UCC filings, Military Discharges, trade names, and partnerships.
Our Garden City Records Center – Archives is an extension of the Superior Court Clerk's Office. This facility is located offsite and is responsible for storing all of the Clerk's office older Criminal, Civil and Domestic files as well as deed books, microfilms, plats/maps and historical records. This location is currently not open to the public, however, you can request records from Garden City through our main office.
When recording real estate documents, all deeds conveying property must have a PT61 form attached. You can fill out form at www.gsccca.org.
